An unknown error occured (-9838)

“We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-9838). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.” And that was it. So here I am with no phone, no internet, no navigation device… Are you kidding me? Thousands of people are reporting the same problem and even new customers are going home empty handed. The only available option at this point in the game is to wait. Because unless you can restore your iTunes to something prior to 7.7 and then do a restore on the iPhone 1.x to make it go back, you might not have a phone for more than a couple of hours.

Joking around you could expect the new “set” of funny commercials: “Hi I am a Mac and I am a PC, I launched a product and left thousands of people without a phone, thousands of dollars where lost, but this is not what happened with Vista, right?”

I think that the marketing campaign employed up to this point could backfire. My suggestion is to exploit Apple’s greatness and leave the comparison aside.
